Every summer, I go to my childhood home, Sitges, to work as a living statue. There, on the pavement, dressed as Mary Poppins, I see my family go by. It’s a Major Festival. I haven’t talked to them for years.
CLARA MARTÍNEZ MALAGELADA graduated in Philosophy from the University of Granada, and graduated in the specialty of Editing from the School of Cinematography and Audio-visuals of Madrid (ECAM). She is the director of the digital cinema magazine, Sala 1, revista digital de cine, founded in 2012. She has collaborated in several cinematographic publications, such as Caimán Cuadernos de Cine (Spain) and El Gran Vidrio (Mexico). She works as a webmaster at Filmadrid (International Film Festival of Madrid).
Co-editor of Dentro / Within (Facundo Tosso, 2016), together with Alejandro Lázaro; she has worked as assistant editor at the production company Morena Films on films such as Altamira (2016), and El Olivo / The Olive Tree (2016). Also, in the last year she has worked as an additional editor on Chillida: lo profundo es el aire / Chillida: how deep is the air, by the director Juan Barrero (Seville) and recently premiered at the San Sebastián Film Festival; as editing assistant for Zona Hostil / Hostile Zone (2017), in the production company Tornasol Films; as a co-editor with Alejandro Lázaro of Milagros (2016), and as assistant editor to Juan Barrero in 100 días en soledad / 100 days in solitude (2017), produced by Wanda Films.
She is currently working as an editor on Vida férrea / Railway life, a documentary feature film by Manuel Bauer, and as assistant editor to Alejandro Lázaro in Cuando dejes de quererme / When you stop loving me, by Igor Lagarreta.
