CONDITIONS
- 1. Registration is free of charge. The registration must be formalised by filling in the electronic registration form on the official web page of the Festival, www.miradasdoc.com. Any registration form that does not fulfil these requirements will be automatically eliminated from the competition. The films will be handed over personally at the general registration of entry of the Guía de Isora Local Authority, or must alternatively be sent by mail and must be clearly marked with MiradasDoc, Festival Internacional de Cine Documental de Guía de Isora to the following address:

- 2. The final date for acceptance of films will be determined upon the publication of these conditions.
- 3. The production of the films must be subsequent to 1st January 2009.
- 4. Each participant may present one or more documentaries. Each documentary must be presented for one only of the following Competitions and categories:
International Competition: Best Documentary, Best Short and Best First Work.
National Competition: Best Documentary on Social Issues.
Canarian Competition: Best Documentary.
- 5. The festival requires as projection formats 35mm., DV-Cam, Betacam SP or DigiBeta.
- 6. The competitors must send, for the pre-selection, three copies of each film in DVD Pal format. They must be labelled, specifying the category in which they are registered, the name of the documentary, the director and the e-mail. The film should be accompanied by a synopsis of the plot, stills (jpg), a photograph of the director (jpg), bio-filmography together with any other documents (posters, press dossier…) which can be added to the catalogue or the web-site of the film if it is selected.
- 7.The juries will be made up of well-known personalities from the audiovisual medium and the world of culture. Three juries will be set up, each of which will be composed of three persons. (The Jury for international short and full-length documentaries, the Jury for First Work and the National Prize, and the Canarian Jury). Likewise, in order to determine the Opening Film, Closing Film and the film for Enseñandoc the Festival Selection Committee will act as a Jury.
- 8. The members of the Jury may not compete in the categories of director, film-maker or producer.
- 9. The totality of the participating works, whether selected or not, will form part of the documentary archive of the Festival (DVD), which is deposited at the Municipal Public Library in Guía de Isora, which will not be used for commercial purposes by the organisation under any circumstances.
- 10. The documentaries presented for competition may be selected for the Screening of MiradasDoc Market, with prior indication by the interested party on the registration form for the Festival.
- 11. In order to participate in the First Work Prize, a film should be the first full-length or short film by its maker.
- 12. MiradasDoc considers those documentaries that do not exceed thirty minutes’ duration as shorts.
- 13. The films that apply for the International Competition could only participate in another spanish festival before MiradasDoc .
