Sadaf Rahimi is the best female boxer in Afghanistan, but she must come face to face with her country’s traditions. She and her sister Shabnam joined the recently created Afghanistan women’s boxing team when they were 13, when they returned to their home country after a period spent as refugees in Iran. Her sporting and academic success turn her into an icon for many young Afghan girls, but her path will not be free of threats or obstacles.

JUAN ANTONIO MORENO AMADOR (Spain 1982) has explored the audiovisual works in their struggle for freedom and dignity in situations of conflict. Boxing for Freedom is her first feature film, he has previously made short documentary films that have been awarded and selected at national and international festivals
