Non fiction selection canal+


I worked for the Communication Department of Canal+ and I have contributed to the launched of series as Game of Thrones, True Blood or The Newsroom, original fiction as ¿Qué Fue de Jorge Sanz?, channels as Canal+ Xtra or service as Yomvi, de VOD platform of Canal+. Since 2015, I am selecting the non fiction titles to the Movistar+ premium channels. Movistar+ is the new company created in July 2015 as a result of Telefonica’s acquisition of Canal+.
In terms of Documentaries we look for new titles (no more than one year old) and first run on Television in Spain. One offs about sports, cinema and television, fashion, music, arts and architecture, social issues and documentaries awarded in the main festivals. We acquire 200 hours per year. We do mainly acquisitions from the international distributors. Pre-buys around 5% and must have a Spanish approach. Our licence is one year of fully exclusive TV rights. Territory: Spain and Andorra.

MOVISTAR ESTRENOS is dedicated to new titles from the majors: Amy, Listen to me Marlon, OJ: Made in America, Citizenfour, Meru. And those who are about cinema or television: Hitchcock / Truffaut or Live from New York.
MOVISTAR XTRA is dedicated to documentaries awarded in the main festivals, Fashion Docs: Peggy Guggenheim, Mapplethorpe, The Battle of Versailles; Music docs: Hot Sugar Cold World, French Waves, Elliott Smith: Heaven’s Adores you; Social Issues: Facebookistan, La Granja del Paso.
