A MINOR FIGURE

1988. A Japanese man enters the United States on a fake passport. Ronald Reagan tours a collapsing Soviet Union. A road trip through rural America ends in a terrorism arrest outside of New York City. What becomes of those lost to the currents of history? Do they leave some traces behind, or do they simply disappear?

MICHAEL MCCANNE. He was a 2017 fellow at Tent: Creative Writing at The Yiddish Book Center in Amherst, MA, a 2018 resident at the Mount Lebanon Residency in New Lebanon, NY, and a 2020 grant recipient from the Wave Farm/NYSCA Media Arts Assistance Fund.
