THE GIRLS OF THE INDUSTRIAL ESTATE

A group of trans and cisgender migrant women who work as prostitutes in an industrial estate in Madrid record images with their mobile phones to give an overview of their daily lives. The arrival of Covid 19 and the new antiprostitution laws threaten their livelihood.

Cecilia Montagut – Argentinian director living in Madrid. Graduate in psychology and film directing. She began her career shooting short fiction films. In recent years she has worked on non-fiction feature films. Her films are focused on showing the different aspects of heteropatriarchy, gender discrimination and women’s strategies of dissidence.
