When filmmaker Juan Alfredo Amil is told by his doctors that his morbid obesity could put his life at risk; he only finds one way to combat his panic state: Make a film about it. But the tension he feels raises old personal demons to surface, and what at first seemed to be a fable about the fear of death, will end up becoming the filmed testimony of how his personal life collapses in front of him.

JUAN ALFREDO AMIL (Arona, Tenerife, 1981), was one of the first Spanish filmmakers to experiment in making short films with mobile phones. Soy Un Héroe (2011), was the first short film made with a Smartphone to be part of one of the official sections on Miradas-Doc. Amil gained experience in documentary film-making with two television projects, Héroes Modernos (2015), and Amaro Pargo: Between the legend and the history (2017). His first feature film, The Absolution (2023), participated in the MiradasDoc Pitching.
