The call for submissions will accept applications from African, Latin American and/or Spanish filmmakers developing their documentary project in Africa and/or Latin America and dealing with themes on these geographical areas.
Projects that relate Africa and Latin America and/or are a co-production between Africa and Latin America will be especially valued.
Lab and pitching open to feature-length documentary films, as well as documentaries and series designed for television and all types of platforms. Audio-visual journalistic reports or news bulletin format projects will not be considered.
The Festival will select a maximum of 8 projects for participation in the Afrolatam Workshop and Pitch Session, based on the reports prepared by three international experts. The filmmakers responsible for the projects may be able to find strategic, industrial and financial partners among the professional guests attending Miradasdoc Market, who can help to co-produce their projects. Film-makers will also be able to present their projects to industry representatives in a pitching session and will be given a personalized appointment schedule for meetings with professionals interested in their projects.
Afrolatam Pitch will take place on 22nd March 2024 in the 17th Miradasdoc International Film Festival framework. During the three days before the Forum, Claudia Rodríguez from Preciosa Media (Colombia) will lead a development workshop with the aim of presenting each project to the Afrolatam Pitch Session with the highest possible quality.
