OUR BODY IS AN EXPANDING STAR

Two siblings embark on an imaginary road trip through the geography of their Brown bodies, bodies they used to reject.Through the expanded territory of their skin, their ancestors emerge to help them reconfigure their identity

Tania Hernández Velasco. Tania is a Mexico City born filmmaker. Producer, director, editor and cinematographer of Titixe (2018), selected in more than 40 festivals (FICUNAM, Málaga, Biarritz, Full Frame, Roma, etc.). Director and producer of Eclipsis (2022), commissioned by the UNAM Cinematheque (Best Experimental Film-Ann Arbor, Best Director-Black Canvas). BA in Film (Centro) and MA in Creative Documentary (Pompeu Fabra).

Semillites Hernández Velasco. Semillites is a visual artist and illustrator, a brown transmasculine individual who resides in Vancouver. He hails from a family of farmers from central Mexico but grew up far from the land. Now, he seeks a path back to his roots through his artistic practice. His work portrays the joy, pleasure, and intersecting sensations of brown-colored and transgender bodies through drawing, painting, design, and printmaking.
