EDOC producer / director


Lisandra I. Rivera has worked as a producer, executive producer and has been in charge of the production direction of several Ecuadorian films such as “Ratas, ratones, rateros” (Sebastián Cordero, 1999), “1809-1810, Mientras llega el día” (Camilo Luzuriaga, 2004), “Crónicas” (Sebastián Cordero, 2004) and in 2011 she produces “Pescador” (Sebastián Cordero, 2011) together with Cordero which premiered at the San Sebastián International Film Festival. In 2013, he co-directs and co-produces with Manolo Sarmiento the feature-length documentary “La muerte de Jaime Roldós” (co-production Ecuador/Argentina) that had a successful distribution in cinemas nationwide and receives the Ibero-American Journalism Prize Gabriel García Márquez, image category, of the FNPI – 2014, the Coral Best Documentary Film at the 36th New Latin American Film Festival in Havana, Cuba – 2014, and the Best Latin American Documentary, ex aequo award at the Cinélatino, 26 Rencontres de Toulouse in 2014, among other international awards and mentions. In 2001, she co-founded the International Documentary Film Festival EDOC: Encuentros del Otro Cine in Ecuador, which currently finished its 18th edition and where she collaborates every year as part of the selection committee. Between 2013 and 2014 he coordinated the Technical Unit of the IV edition of DOCTV Latinoamérica for the cinematographic entity of Ecuador, the FNCL and the CACI and in the period 2015-2016 she headed and organized the emerging School of Cinema of the University of the Arts (UArtes) of Ecuador. She is currently developing several feature-length documentary and fiction film projects.
