Videolibrary:

  • MiradasDoc Market features a video-library and professional screening area as well as a catalogue of over 200 completed documentaries.

Access to the screening area is exclusively reserved for TV aquisition and programming executives, distributors, and professionals representing festivals or institutions. These professional decision-makers will screen the documentaries in search of the best programs; those best suited to their channel’s editorial slant and to their audience’s tastes.

What documentaries may be submitted?

  • Films produced or shot in AFRICA, LATIN AMERICA and ASIA.
  • Documentaries dealing with SOCIAL ISSUES and produced anywhere in the world.
  • Productions that touch upon the relationship between northern and southern hemispheres.

Genres included in the Catalogue:

  • Human Interest/Social Issues
  • Current Affairs/Special Reports/Politics
  • Arts/Music/Culture
  • History
  • Environment /Wildlife
  • Ethnology
  • Experimental

Eligibility Criteria

Submissions must be made online using the screening entry form on this website.

  • All entries will go through a selection process
  • We will only accept documentaries produced after January 1st 2008.
  • The video-library will only include English versions. (This includes original versions with English subtitles as well as English voice-over or dialogue scripts).
  • MiradasDoc Market welcomes creative, auteur documentaries, and television productions with a more standard format.
  • Unlimited number of submissions per company.

There is no charge for submitting entries and the deadline is September 4th 2009.

Material and delivery requirements.

  • In order to prevent delays in the screening area, entries that are accepted must send at least another 2 PAL DVD’s per documentary entry.
  • These copies of the documentaries will not be returned and will form part of the Festival’s video-library, to be used for consultation purposes only.
  • If your film is selected, we recommend that you send promotional material for your titles to be displayed in the Screening area (posters, press books, photos, slides, etc).
  • All Festival delivery charges, including the cost of sending DVD’s and promotional materials and any customs duties (if applicable) will be born by the companies submitting the films. All deliveries must be pre-paid. The Organization will not accept COD charges.
