In 1966, Basilio Martín Patino sent nine letters to Bertha. Almost fifty years later, Virginia García del Pino tries to write the tenth one, following Patino’s rule: “to forget any precept over what must be done”. This film is a letter shared between herself and Basilio Martín Patino after his brilliant career as a filmmaker, a portrait that delves into a receding identity, into what is left of the once rebellious student who wrote to Bertha in 1966.

VIRGINIA GARCÍA DEL PINO (Barcelona, 1966) is a documentary film director and director of projects at the Masters of Creative Documentary at the UAB. Mi hermana y yo (2009) is a melodramatic film that played at Punto de Vista and FID Marseille, among other well-known festivals, and has been shown by the New York Anthology Film Archives as part of the SPANISH NON FICTION program. Her first feature film, El Jurado (2012), was part of the official selection at FID Maseille, FIC Valdivia and Punto de Vista. Her most recent film, Basilio Martín Patino.
