Khelmtsipe (The Ruler) delves into Stalin’s roots in a small town in Georgia, while showing, years after the fall of the Soviet regime, the controversy generated by a statue erected in his honour in the courtyard of a convent. Now the nuns of the Savior temple come face to face with the defenders of the monument. How could the church become the refuge for a leader whose name was associated with the struggle against religion?
